![]() Have you tried Arkham City or any other 3D games yet? It'd be nice to have a control sample for your hardware/sensibilities. Or the game's feature is just buggy shit since it's new and maybe it'll be fixed. When combined with the stronger 3d in games compared to movies, meaning the two images of the tower (to continue that example) ARE farther apart onscreen, might be leading to the effect you're seeing. This creates more crosstalk or ghosted images on high contrast scenes: for example, you have a black or white castle tower in the distance with a backdrop of a blue or red sky (think Skyrim) and the glasses can't completely block out the competing image for each eye. Over the past few years, one of the complaints about active glasses is that they dim the image too much: so the latest glasses typically let more light bleed through. This is because they wouldn't be able to sell tickets for some seats in the front or off to the sides in theaters while people playing games are expected to be seated in an appropriate location. Is anyone else experiencing similar issues with Pinball Arcade 3d on PS3?ģD in games is often much stronger than that used in movies (on the PC, this is always adjustable, on consoles, sometimes but not always). ![]() Nevertheless, some of my greatest Blu-ray 3d movies still look really good, which is why I'm kind of surprised that Pinball Arcade is displayed so poorly that's it completely unplayable. The Pinball Arcade has been successfully re-released on Xbox 360 / XBLA with all of the tables through Season 3 available. I love my Sharp Aquous LED, it's a fabulous TV for many reasons, however I've always thought that it's 3d capabilities were not the best. My PS3 is is correctly set up as a 1080p 50 inch 3d TV in settings. I've never seen anything like it, upon playing the tables the image distortion is still there on top of what seems like the (TV or Glasses or PS3 - Don't know) is struggling, the 3d is "waving" back and forth on the upper ramps in the background. I mean seriously, there is an image, and then a ghosted image, still very visible, like 10 cm to the right of the image. Simply put, it is completely unplayable on my Sharp 50 inch LED. However I was shocked at the poor 3d image that greeted me when I tried playing it in 3d for the first time. (which I really hope is not the case).Pinball Arcade (EU) on the PS3 recently got patched with the "super-patch", that along with fixes with also added stereoscopic 3d support. So if it is pushing the limits of what the machines can output as is, it might not be worth doing 3D. With that being said, I fully understand that there is a loss in asset quality/resolution/frame rate when going 3D in some cases. So I don't know, to me even though a smaller percentage of people may use 3D, I still say with such little effort in it's creation it seems almost silly not to add. So if you ask me, Pinball Arcade is being left behind. And on the PC side of things people are starting to run platforms like Future in 3D stereo as well. For instance, the Sega Saturn Controller has 8 buttons and ps3/xbox have 10 if you. ![]() (even though imo it pales in comparison to pinball arcade). This is based on the standard P1/P2 Sega layout arcade layout. When people check out Zen pinball in 3D at my house, they walk away thinking how amazing Zen is as a game. Adding to the overall "king of pinball games" Pinball Arcade would get. Also keep in mind, even if a small few can use the feature, those small few also are very vocal online. (again without changing a line of code on the games themselves) On the console side there are quite a few games that have had 3D stereo retro fitted after the fact because it is so easy to do. ![]() Hell on the PC there are middleware applications that can make any real-time game run in true stereo 3D. ![]() They add a dummy camera set to the primary and change frame buffer and rate to display twice the amount of data. To all those saying it wouldnt be worth their time to add 3D, I don't think you understand how little it takes to add stereo 3D to games. ![]()
